What is Logistics Activity Growing During the Pandemic Period?

Covid-19 pandemic has a big impact on the business world. Bank Indonesia’s latest Business Activity Survey (SKDU) shows that business activity in the first quarter of this year experienced a decline. The decline occurred in a number of economic sectors such as the manufacturing industry sector, the trade sector, hotels and restaurants, the mining sector, the transportation and communication sector, and the construction sector.

“However, along with a number of logistical business activities which plummeted during the pandemic, there are actually a number of logistics activities manage to survive, and even tend to grow,” Chairman of the DPP Indonesian Logistics and Forwarders Association (ALFI) Yukki Nugrahawan Hanafi, told beritakapal.com , on Friday (5/6/2020).

He revealed, logistical activities that still survive and even experienced positive growth until the New Normal and Next Normal periods, among others; E-Commerce Logistics Services, Courier Service, Warehousing and Retail Goods Warehousing Services, and Logistics Services relating to B to C (Business to Consumer) and C to C (Consumer to Consumer) Transactions.

In addition, he added, companies that provide end-to-end services range from setting up and operating official store accounts at various e-commerce sites, designing and executing digital marketing, providing CS teams, to warehouse and fulfillment services.

“In addition, logistical players come both from startup and conventional / social social,” said Yukki who also serves as Chairman of the Asean Federation of Forwarders Association (AFFA).

JAKARTA – Pandemi Covid-19 berdampak besar pada dunia usaha. Survei Kegiatan Dunia Usaha (SKDU) terbaru Bank Indonesia memperlihatkan bahwa kegiatan usaha pada triwulan I tahun ini mengalami penurunan. Penurunan terjadi pada sejumlah sektor ekonomi seperti sektor industri pengolahan, sektor perdagangan, hotel, dan restoran, sektor pertambangan, sektor pengangkutan dan komunikasi, serta sektor konstruksi.

“Namun bersamaan dengan sejumlah kegiatan usaha logistik yang terpuruk selama masa pandemi itu, justru ada beberapa kegiatan logistik yang masih mampu bertahan, bahkan cenderung tumbuh,” ujar Ketua Umum DPP Asosiasi Logistik dan Forwarder Indonesia (ALFI) Yukki Nugrahawan Hanafi, kepada beritakapal.com, pada Jumat (5/6/2020).

Dia mengungkapkan, kegiatan logistik yang masih bisa bertahan bahkan menghalami pertumbuhan positif hingga masa New Normal dan Next Normal antara lain; Jasa Logistik e-Commerce, Jasa Angkutan Barang Kiriman (Courier Service), Jasa Pergudangan Bahan Pokok dan Barang Retail, serta Jasa Layanan Logistik berkaitan dengan Transaksi B to C (Business to Consumer) dan C to C (Consumer to Consumer).

Selain itu, imbuhnya, perusahaan yang menyediakan layanan end-to-end yang dilakukan mulai dari menyiapkan sekaligus mengoperasikan akun official store di berbagai situs e-commerce, merancang dan mengeksekusi pemasaran digital, menyediakan tim CS, hingga layanan warehouse dan fulfillment.

“Selain itu para pemain logistik baik dari startup maupun konvensional /dailysocial,” ujar Yukki yang juga menjabat Chairman Asean Federation of Forwarders Association (AFFA).
